Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals are finished for another year, but some discounts are still hanging around. Like before, the biggest discounts are on Nintendo's original Switch games, but there's still plenty of savings to be had on Switch 2 games and accessories if you missed out last month.

What to expect from Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals in 2025

This year's Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals are shaping up to be an exciting time. The highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 has been out for a few months now, making this the very first Black Friday where you'll find savings on Switch 2 games, controllers, and other accessories.

The new Nintendo Switch 2 Pokemon Legends Z-A bundle just dropped, but I doubt this will mean we'll see any new bundles on Amazon, nor any discounts on them either. That being said, Nintendo could decide to drop debut discounts on first-party Switch 2 games like Donkey Kong Bananza and Mario Kart World to encourage those who recently got the new handheld to check out its other releases. They weren't included amongst the official announcement of Nintendo's upcoming Black Friday and holiday deal plans, but retailers like Amazon's Woot have rolled out record-low savings on Switch 2 game releases from early November onwards, which I hope we'll see continue in the absence of any official Nintendo discounts.

Even if the Switch 2 console isn't a part of this year's sales, its existence could still do wonders. With eyes all on the new console, and its new games and accessories, retailers may want to get rid of old stock. Taking that into consideration, we could expect to see huge discounts on everything from controllers, headsets, and even Nintendo Switch cases. I mean, we see these each year anyway, with 2024 being the place for record-breaking discounts on the CRKD Nitro Deck+, which dropped to $59.99, or even the official Joy-Con controllers saw record-low prices at $59.99 over the sales period. But, even bigger discounts could make 2025 one of the best years for Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals so far.

This will spell great news for those sticking with the current handheld, and anyone looking to make the next-gen leap. The Switch is compatible with older Switch games, so it would be an opportune time to start grabbing any Switch games you may have missed and create a bustling game library for your new Ninty device.

With SD cards getting cheaper every year, this Black Friday will also be a great time to pick up some extra storage. The existing Nintendo Switch 2 microSD Express Cards are still relatively new, and so I don't expect we'll see any huge savings on the Switch 2 cards. However, even the smallest of discounts will go a long way in making them more accessible and budget-friendly. On November 11, Nintendo announced that it will be dropping $20 off the 256GB Samsung microSD Express card on November 30, which should help make the extra Switch 2 storage more accessible.

If you're sticking with your aging Switch, grabbing one of the best Nintendo Switch SD cards at a fraction of the price during the sales will put you in good standing to stretch the value of your current handheld.

Overall, this year's Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals mostly revolve around the existence of the Switch 2, and the hope that its existence this year will significantly drop the prices of older games and tech. Hopefully, we'll see at least some cash off the console itself, but regardless, we're bound to have another year of record-low discounts for current Switch games, accessories, and hopefully on Lite and OLED models of the handheld itself too, to help fight back against the recent wave of price increases.

Hardware Editor

Ever since I first held a NES controller in my hand I've been obsessed with gaming, and the hardware it runs on. I could hook up a NES and SNES to a telly, without instructions, before I could walk. Even now, nothing is more exciting then taking a console, or handheld, out the box for the first time and setting it up. This obsession transformed into a love of games and game music, which lead to my music degree and dream of becoming the Scottish Nobuo Uematsu. After sharing my love of games through music, I began to share my love through words on sites like TechRadar and iMore. This lead to becoming a Hardware staff writer for PCGamesN, and later the Senior Tech Writer for Dexerto, covering all things Steam Deck, PlayStation and Nintendo. With that experience, I was able to level up as Hardware Editor for GamesRadar+, where I'm still just as Nintendo, PlayStation and gaming tech obsessed as ever.
