Sometimes there's nothing so evocative as the future that never came. This prediction of a military issue war machine was unveiled in the pages of America's Mechanix Illustrated magazine in 1961. "Our Armed Forces and Space Authority are dead serious about it," trumpeted the mag, doubtlessly putting the fear of God into enemies of freedom everywhere.
