A Halloween Steam sale is happening. Abandon finances all ye who enter

Yep, Steam is getting onboard with this year's spookiness by pledging to wreak horror upon your wallet and inflict a remorseless massacre on credit cards everywhere. There's a sale coming, and you know what that means. Money haemorrhaging like a freshly-stabbed jugular, and all under the pretense of saving cash.

There's a raft of spooky (and vaguely spooky) stuff in the typically hatchet-discounted sale, with over 80 titles available at a cut price from now "until about the time all the pumpkins are smashed" (so probably for the next couple of days then). Limbo, Amnesia, The Walking Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, Lone Survivor, Dead Space 2, Alan Wake and The Darkness II all make low-cost appearances, as do a vast plethora of other AAA and indie games worth looking up. So head over to the sale's homepage and prepare to ruin yourself all over again. You know you want to.

I highly recommend Lone Survivor. It plays like old school silent hill/resident evil, but from a 2D perspective. The soundtracks great. The story is intriguing with a nice air of mystery. For five dollars you can't go wrong and the game can be beaten in less than 5 hours so its not a huge time sink with the AAA games coming out.

I was concerned all of my monies would be gone, but it turns out I already own nearly all of the games on sale.

You know you buy too many games when a Steam sale comes around and there is nothing you want that you don't already own. I still need to man the hell up and finish Amnesia.
