Mistwalker, the studio behind Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey (which is headed by famed Final Fantasy designer Hironobu Sakaguchi) has announced that their first iOS title, Party Wave is now in the App Store.
If you're a hardcore JRPG fan then Party Wave probably isn't exactly what you're hoping Sakaguchi would create, but nevertheless the game actually looks like it could be a lot of fun.
Sakaguchi is a hobbyist surfer, and decided that his latest game would bridge the gap between his two passions. The result is Party Wave, a small-scale iOS title in which players paddle around the ocean and pull off stunts on big waves.
Sakaguchi said that the title comes from the phrase "party wave" which surfers will often yell when several of them end up on a particularly large wave together.
Party Wave is now available for $1.99 and includes more shades of pastel than you can shake a stick at.
