A new, fuller trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides has sailed online.
This latest promo gives a much better idea of what to expect in terms of plot than any previous promos have.
We see here that Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow is commissioned to lead a crew to find the elusive fountain of youth, although it seems everyone has their eyes on the ultimate prize.
The trailer also gives a clearer idea of the role that the mermaids will play in the movie, revealing them to be both deadly and vulnerable.
Unsurprisingly, the trailer also takes time to show off two of its most exciting new assets: Blackbeard (Ian McShane) and daughter Angelica (Penelope Cruz).
The stereoscopic way in which Blackbeard waves his sword around also serves as a clear reminder to the fact that this is coming at us in 3D.
With any further ado, have a look at the new trailer for yourself:
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is set for release on 18 May 2011.
