There's yet another remake on its way, of course, but for now let's feast our gaze on the poster for Howard Hawks' original alien-on-the-loose chiller. Released in 1951, this theremin-soundtracked masterpiece went on to inspire everything from Alien to The X-Files to Doctor Who and remains an icy, jittery genre classic. Be sure to lock your doors tonight. Especially if you live in a remote Arctic research station.
