Thor: The Dark World has released an incredible new poster online, showing Chris Hemsworth’s Norse god in lightning-wielding mode.

Things have been a little quiet for the Marvel sequel this far, with its stablemate Iron Man 3 hogging the Phase 2 limelight. But, with that film hitting cinemas immenintly, it’s time for Thor’s day in the sun (well, storm).

Following on from the events of The Avengers , The Dark World sees Thor dealing not only with his troublesome stepbrother Loki (Tom Hiddleston), but also a bunch of Dark Elves led by the nefarious Malekith (Christopher Eccleston). No wonder his romance with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) is on the back-burner.
