Need extra space for Pokémon Legends Z-A? This Switch 2 memory card is now at a record-low price

While the Pokémon Legends Z-A install size isn't huge (4.1GB for the original Switch version or 7.7GB for the Switch 2 version), gamers with plenty of downloaded titles might be needing a little extra space on their console. Thankfully, MicroSD Express cards are finally starting to see some discounts.
The PNY microSD Express card with 128GB storage space is 15% off at Amazon, now $38.24 (was $44.99). That's half of the storage space of the Switch 2 but double or four times the space the original Switch came with, so will be incredibly useful no matter which console you own. And yes, if you're wondering, it is compatible with the Switch and Switch 2.

Save $6.75 - This is a new record-low price for PNY's 128GB microSD card, following only a few smaller discounts in the past. It's also the only storage size on offer right now.

While the file size for Pokémon Legends Z-A isn't huge, it doesn't include a day-one patch Nintendo has already confirmed to bring higher-resolution textures and increased framerates, which should bring the Switch 2 version's size up to 10GB. That's not counting any extra Pokémon games you have installed.
Even if you don't think you'll need a memory card to enjoy Legends Z-A, it really doesn't hurt to get one. It'll let you install more games, media or data onto your handheld console so you never have to worry about deleting a title to add a new one.
Should you buy the PNY microSD Express 128GB?
There are quite a few different microSD cards at Amazon, and admittedly PNY's aren't the cheapest, but like any product it can pay dividends to opt for a more premium model.
PNY offers better performance than many rivals, thanks to faster reading and writing speeds (about six times faster, on both counts, than the Amazon Basics one). It's also designed to run games straight from the card, unlike many alternatives.
A more relevant question is whether you should buy the microSD Express 128GB, rather than the 256GB or 512GB models. If you own absolutely loads of games, then having extra storage space could help, but bear in mind that there are no deals on those models. Instead, you might want to pay full price or wait for the Black Friday gaming deals.
Those discounts, centered around the titular November 28 week-ender, will almost certainly bring discounts to plenty of microSD cards. However that's over a month on from the game's release.
