God of War II strategy guide

XXXV. The Palace of the Fates, outside
Head right, grab the red orbs, and you'll find yourself in the center of the Palace Of The Fates. Head up the ladder on the far side of the area and put the crank into the lever. Now twist it until the flames to your left stop. Freeze time, and jump across the gap to the first platform. Head right, grab the Phoenix feather then jump into the next room.

Move along this corridor until you find the grate with the updraft. Now move forwards and pull the lever at the end to lower the gate, then sprint back and use the updraft to float over through the gap before the gate closes. It's tough, but possible, so keep trying if you don't nail it first time.

Now nail the dogs and soldiers who attack you, and open the door. In this area there's some scaffold and a rock suspended in the air. Break the scaffold to release the rock, and stock up on health and magic.

Puzzle focus
Drag the block through and to the right where the translator is waiting. Put the block on the pressure plate to keep the door open, then pick up the translator and run out with him. Now you'll be attacked, and you've got to keep your new buddy alive, so pop him down as far away as possible and kill the enemies. The Cyclone of chaos move works well here. Now pick him up and carry him to the next area, and again kill the enemies. Atlas Quake is useful here too, but make sure you save plenty of magic for the next part.

Carry him back to the book and he'll run to it and cower, as you're assailed by a load of enemies. Aim for the Summoners first because they'll raise even more creatures, and then sort out the rest. Keep an eye on the translator, because if he dies, you'll be back to the beginning. Once done, force him to read the book and when he resists, press Circle to force the issue.

Rip the Ram head key out of the door and run back to the main Palace area. Now head to the other side and use the Ram key in the Ram door. Stock up on health / magic and run into the semi-circular corridor. You'll be attacked by hordes of troops and the walls will roll in from both sides of the corridor. Don't panic, just stay as central as possible and kill the enemies. When they're dead the spikes will withdraw.
