October 15, 2025: We updated this guide with the latest information on the 2025 Fortnitemares event.

The Fortnite Fortnitemares 2025 event kicked off on October 9 this year, ushering in the now traditional Halloween celebrations across the battle royale and beyond. The main island has received a spooky makeover, meaning you can now visit Creepy Camps, Viney Shafts, Gourdy Gate, Freaky Fields, and Pumpkin Pass, while there's a completely new Reload map named Nitemare Island which is now in the rotation. The horde mode is also back for 2025, renamed as Demon Rush and featuring the KPop Demon Hunters.

What is the Fortnitemares event

The Fortnite Fortnitemares 2025 event is a little over three-week event in Fortnite during which limited-time quests and rewards are added to the game, all Halloween themed, along with certain new weapons, enemies, locations, and NPCs added to the map. Most of these new map and gameplay additions are featured in the quests in some way, so players will need to find all of the new elements to fully complete the Fortnitemares quests.

This time around there's a special guest, with Doja Cat featuring as the Mother of Thorns NPC who must be fought and taken down. Other familiar faces you'll encounter during the event include Scooby Doo, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne, and Fred from Mystery Incorporated, plus The Grabber from Black Phone, Huggy Wuggy from Poppy Playtime, and plenty more.

The Fortnitemares event is scheduled to run for a little over three weeks in total, with all quests and rewards attached to the event coming to an end on November 1 at 10:30am ET. The event ending at that time will coincide with the conclusion of the current Fortnite Season 4, so all Halloween and Fortnitemares content will be taken down at that point – meaning that anybody who hasn't earned the unique rewards attached to the event will have missed their chance.
