Pedro Pascal wants to keep playing Din Djarin for as long as possible
Pedro Pascal wants to keep playing Din Djarin as long as he can – or, as long as the people who are actually in the Mandalorian armor can.
"I'm completely grateful. It's the longest creative relationship I've had, it's the character that I've played the longest," Pascal said at a Q&A in London attended by GamesRadar+. "Hopefully I get to continue playing him for as long as my body, or as many bodies as we put into the suit, can take it."
The Mandalorian premiered back in 2019, so Pascal has been playing Din Djarin for seven years, but he famously does most of his work in the voice booth. The Mandalorian and Grogu is his first time taking the role to the big screen, however, and he stars alongside Sigourney Weaver as the New Republic's Colonel Ward and Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt, son of Jabba. Martin Scorsese also has a cameo in the movie, providing the voice of an Ardennian who owns a food truck.
"He's great, he's hilarious – and the type of character, we gave him room to do his thing," director Jon Favreau said of the cameo. "It really plays into his performance style and the animators and creature designers really leaned into it so it's one of the highlights of the film for me."
The first Star Wars movie since The Rise of Skywalker will see Din Djarin and and his small green ward enlisted by the New Republic enlisted by the New Republic to rescue Rotta the Hutt in exchange for information from the Hutt clan on a mysterious target.
The Mandalorian and Grogu arrives in theaters on May 22. In the meantime, get up to speed with all the other upcoming Star Wars movies and shows.
