Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be the most emotional and "grown-up" movie in the franchise to date, according to Tom Holland. The Peter Parker star shared the insight at this year's CinemaCon, where he appeared virtually to introduce some new footage from the upcoming Marvel movie.
Per Variety, the Spidey star recapped the events of the last movie, where Peter had to erase his memory from everyone who knows him. "Peter had to make a sacrifice to make all his friends forget who he is," Holland explained. "Here, you’ll see some of the consequences of that choice."
When there, Ned starts loudly talking about wanting to find out who is behind Spider-Man's mask because he "saved me and my friend’s lives in high school." Peter then spots MJ, who is kissing someone new. At the end of the clip, he introduces himself to her as "Maynard … just a neighbor from across the hall." After he gives her a bouquet of flowers, she smiles and replies, "friendly neighbor." We see what you did there…
