Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be the most emotional and "grown-up" movie in the franchise to date, according to Tom Holland. The Peter Parker star shared the insight at this year's CinemaCon, where he appeared virtually to introduce some new footage from the upcoming Marvel movie.
Per Variety, the Spidey star recapped the events of the last movie, where Peter had to erase his memory from everyone who knows him. "Peter had to make a sacrifice to make all his friends forget who he is," Holland explained. "Here, you’ll see some of the consequences of that choice."
Sony then debuted an early scene from the new movie starring Holland, Zendaya's MJ and Jacob Batalon's Ned. The video hasn't been released publicly but reports from those attending tease it begins with Peter following Ned to a crowded college party.

Peter then spots MJ, who is kissing someone new. At the end of the clip, he introduces himself to her as "Maynard … just a neighbor from across the hall." After he gives her a bouquet of flowers, she smiles and replies, "friendly neighbor." We see what you did there…
Spider-Man: No Way Home will be swinging into theaters on July 31. We've had a first trailer already, which actually features part of this clip, as well as confirming that Punisher and Mark Ruffalo's Hulk will star in the movie. However, details on what will actually happen are being kept pretty secret at the moment in a typical Marvel fashion.
