Robert Pattinson says the delay of The Batman 2 production is to thank for his stacked 2026 filmography
He'll have appeared in eight movies between the Batman films
Robert Pattinson says he kept agreeing to do more movies because The Batman 2 kept getting delayed. The actor, who is starring in five different films in 2026 alone, says he kept signing on for new parts as he waited for the Matt Reeves sequel to be ready.
"I'm like, 'Well, I'll do another movie in between,'" Pattinson said in an interview with GQ about the production of Part II getting pushed back. "And then I ended up doing fucking a lot of movies."
The actor appeared in The Drama opposite Zendaya earlier this year, and now has four more films, which are scheduled for the rest of the year. First up is The Odyssey, which is out in July where he plays the villainous Antinous, before he appears in Dune 3 in December as Scytale.
He's also got a movie called Primetime, which tells the origins of the story To Catch a Predator and will be out in September. Then there's a Netflix thriller called Here Comes the Flood with Denzel Washington and Daisy Edgar-Jones.
The Batman 2 is also finally ready to begin production, with filming set for this month. Alongside most of the returning cast, the sequel will also star Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, and Charles Dance.
During the interview with GQ, Pattinson revealed that he'd been back in the gym getting ready to reprise the comic book character, especially after criticism he had on the first film. "‘You didn’t work out at all,' I worked out every fucking day," the Tenet actor recalls of what audiences said. "Even after that, I still look like I didn’t work out. I worked out twice a day at, like, three o’clock in the morning."
The Batman 2 hits theaters on October 1, 2027. For more upcoming superhero movies, read our guide to all the new DC movies and shows on the way.
