After taking on Mother Nature in this year’s San Andreas, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is picking another mammoth fight for his next movie Rampage. Based on the video arcade game made popular during the ‘80s, the film will find Johnson up against a trio of giant monsters laying waste to three major U.S. cities.
That includes a lizard, a gorilla and a wolf, who will be stopped in the tracks when Johnson comes a’knockin’. The film is set up at New Line with Beau Flynn on board to produce and Non-Stop scribe Ryan Engle on scripting duties.
Before he wrestles with the triptych of beasties, Johnson has a stacked schedule. He’s started the transition to the small screen with the HBO series Ballers, in which he plays a quippy sports agent, and is currently shooting the comedy Central Intelligence. It’s expected that shooting on Rampage will begin once Johnson completes shooting on Fast & Furious 8 next summer.
