Back in the day, before GTA: Vice City, San Andreas and GTA IV, we used to play a game where we'd try and guess where the next GTA would be set. As well as locational suggestions like Tokyo, South America and Europe, we also considered different time-frames - Victorian London, the 1920s Gangster scene. But one scenario seemed to fit the best - GTA: Wild West.

And while Rockstar will rightly distance the forthcoming Red Dead Redemption from their biggest series, asking you to judge it on its own merit, watching this first gameplay trailer the similarities are glaringly obvious, somehow vindicating our earlier predictions. Open-world gameplay, shootin', lootin' and cahootin'? It's GTA with leather chaps and a spittoon - and don't it look purdy.

Oh my God, I'm so excited for this game. I adore RAGE and Euphoria. And multiplayer would be above fantastic.

cool, i'd prefer a sequel to gun though. Gun was more exciting than Red Dead Revolver

i hope they have an actually good coop mode. the one in gta is good no doubt but I expected more from rockstar

This, is what I wanted. A tatical western shooter that uses bullet-time. As long as it doesn't ruin the "fun" mechanic.

I am such a sucker for western flicks, but a western videogame, now that's just love waiting to happen. I hope its better than GUN and Call of Juarez (both were ok).
