Titan Wins Doctor Who Comics Licence

Doctor Who comics have a new home

Since it was announced that Paul Cornell's "The Girl Who Loved Doctor Who" One Shot would bring IDW's tenure as the Time Lord's comic book home to a close, we've been wondering where the TARDIS would land next.

Now Comic Book Resources reports that UK publisher Titan Comics has signed a deal with BBC Worldwide for the licence to make Doctor Who comics. The deal will allow Titan to tell "new standalone adventures featuring the Tenth Doctor, Eleventh Doctor and after the new series launch [later this year], the Twelfth Doctor".

It's also reported that the first comic books will arrive in 2014, and that creative and production teams will be announced "in the coming weeks".

Titan Comics is an offshoot from Titans Books and has launched a number of critically acclaimed titles including Death Sentence and Numbercruncher .
