Journey is an indie game with a lot of buzz, and soon PS3 owners will have a chance to put Thatgamecompany's existential adventure game to the test when it releases for download during PlayStation Network's Spring Fever event on March 13.
Take your first few steps into the great unknown with our Pax 2011 preview:
Described as “an interactive parable” and “an anonymous online adventure to experience a person’s life passage and their intersections with other’s”, Journey will abandon players in a sprawling, sun-scorched desert and challenges them to explore their surroundings and work with others online in order to decipher their purpose and scale a distant mountain.
“The Journey in the game has also become a metaphor for the development process of the game itself,” wrote creative director Jenova Chen on the US PlayStation Blog “Our team is very close to our own mountaintop; we are just a few short weeks away from letting the world experience what we’ve poured our hearts and souls into these last three years. I can’t describe how eager we are to let everyone finally play the game and hear about your experiences with it.”
Journey will retail for $14.99, and you can guarantee GR will have its review up shortly to let you know if Thatgamecompany's Flower follow-up is worth the trip.
