Just yesterday, Ben Affleck confirmed that he would be both directing and starring in his new movie , political thriller Argo .

Already, the director-star is pushing ahead with casting the remaining roles in the film. He’s already bagged John Goodman and Alan Arkin, and now he’s set his sights on Bryan Cranston.

Cranston is currently in talks to play an Irish CIA agent from Boston who once worked as a bodyguard for President Eisenhower.

It’s not certain just how his character factors into the plot yet, but we do know that Affleck will play a CIA agent who creates a fake film in 1979 in order to smuggle American diplomats out of Iran.

Cranston has been making his presence felt in movies a lot this year. Though he’s best known for TV shows Malcolm In The Middle and Breaking Bad, he’s set to make appearances on the big screen in Contagion , Total Recall , Drive and John Carter .

With that cast, Argo is easily shaping up to be one of the coolest-sounding movies currently in the pipeline.
