8 ways the first Fate of the Furious trailer is the most furious Furious so far

Fate of the Furious (F:8, Fate, geddit?) - otherwise know as the far more sensible Fast & Furious 8 in the UK – has unleashed its trailer onto the world and, oh my God, you thought you were ready? Trust me, you are not ready.

Vin Diesel is a baddie? The Rock and Jason Statham are teaming up? SUBMARINES?! If you’re low on your daily dose of adrenaline then step this way.

Check out the trailer and then we'll go over each OMG moment bit-by-bit.

Here's a submarine chasing a car. Because that's a thing.

Thought the never-ending runway couldn't be topped for ridiculousness? Think again.

I can't state this enough: A SUBMARINE IS CHASING A CAR. A SUBMARINE.

Stuck between The Rock and a hard place

Move along Miley Cyrus, there’s a new wrecking ball in town. I don’t quite know where that wrecking ball came from and it how it didn’t kill any friendly faces, but who am I to question the logic when it looks this good?

Vin goes rogue

Vin Diesel’s Dom has been there from the beginning but has performed a U-turn on his buddies and gone rogue. The trailer hints at some sort of weird blackmail/mind control plot. Will the gang be able to bring Dom back from the dark side?

Things that make you go BOOM!

Say hello to a bunch of OTT action sequences, one helluva explosion and, yes, a man being swatted from a snowmobile with a car door. It really doesn’t get better than this. Give it Best Picture, like, now.

"We got a tank"

It wouldn’t be a Furious movie without a few ridiculous vehicle choices. Check out that tank on ice and try not to get too excited (hint: it’s not possible).

Family betrayal

As if Vin Diesel’s change of sides wasn’t bad enough, we get a quick shot of the late Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner to really hammer home the betrayal. This is a franchise that can pull heartstrings with the best of ‘em.

Tug of Roar

What’s better than a two-car tug of war? How about a five-on-one tug of war with the single car winning? Vin Diesel pulls out all the stops to leave his former race partners in the dust.

Prison break

So… Jason Statham and The Rock, who faced off against each other in Fast 7, are teaming up. What else needs to be said?

Directed by F. Gary Gray and starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham and Michelle Rodriguez, The Fate of the Furious speeds into cinemas on April 24, 2017 in the US and April 14, 2017 in the UK.
