Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde gets an update
Don't you just love novels that are out of copyright? Hollywood certainly does, and now it's emerged that the latest classic sci-fi novel to get the reimagining treatment is Robert Louis Stevenson's The Strange Case Of Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde. Driller Killer director Abel Ferrara is helming the project, and the lead roles will be filled by Forest Whitaker and rapper 50 Cent. Source: Variety

Unknown screenwriter hired to draft Grayskull
Warner Bros and Silver Pictures have announced that they've hired a new writer to draft the latest version of the script for their upcoming movie adaptation of Masters Of The Universe. And when we say a new writer, we mean that literally - he's Evan Daughtery, and his only writing credit to date is an unproduced screenplay called Schrapnel. He caught Hollywood's eye when he entered last year's Script Pimp screenwriting competition.

Hollywood Reporter also has details of the synopsis of the film, which is simply entitled Grayskull. Apparently it's "a gritty fantasy [that] reimagines Adam as a soldier who sets off to find his destiny, happening upon the magical world of Eternia. There, Skeletor has raised a technological army and is bent on eradicating magic." That doesn't sound very '80s. Source: The Hollywood Reporter

Could there be life after death for Reaper?
No official announcement has been made on Reaper's future just yet, but the word is that The CW considers it pretty much dead. But that may not be the case, as ABC Studios is reported to be negotiating with CW affiliates to potentially continue the show with new, syndicated episodes on Sunday nights. Another possibility for extending Reaper's lifespan is to find it a place on cable. But while this may be good news for fans, both options are said to be "a long shot".
