Dark Knight Score Disqualified from Oscars
Variety reports that Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard’s score for The Dark Knight has been disqualified from the Oscars on a technicality. This has to do with the number of musicians named by the studio as having contributed to the score.

Spider-Man creator Stan Lee and US cable channel Showtime are teaming up to produce a show about a gay superhero, according to Variety . The series is based on the book Hero by Perry Moore.
Twilight hits Number One Spot
But not in the box office chart… yet. Nope, the soundtrack album to the film of Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling teen romance novel Twilight – featuring tracks by Muse and Linkin Park amongst others, has knocked AC/DC off the top of the American Billboard album charts. Many of the bands featured on the album are ones that the author admits to having on rotation on her iPod which listens to when she’s writing for inspiration. Wonder if it would have been such a hit if she’d been a fan of Bucks Fizz?

Batman’s a Turkey… sort of
A small town in Turkey has filed a lawsuit against Warner Brothers for using its name without consent, reports Comic Book resources . And that name is… Batman. "There is only one Batman in the world," Mayor Huseyin Kalkan says. "The American producers used the name of our city without informing us." Strange they’ve waited all this time to sue, considering Batman’s been around since 1939. Then again, he hasn’t been the subject a billion dollar box office movie before.
