An ensemble piece wobbling between undercooked drama and low-powered farce, writer-director Yoav Factor’s debut sees a disparate Jewish family forced together for Passover.
Timothy Spall is nicely measured as an ex-lawyer asked to unite his clashing adult kids, who number an eco-warrior, a capitalist, a Buddhist and a Rabbi.
But James Callis, Rhona Mitra et al struggle to spin conviction from the contrived sibling tensions, which serve solely as a set-up for the bust-ups, make-ups, near-tragedies and home-baked homilies that amass en route to the fairytale finale.
