Persona 5 is set to launch on February 23, 2021, Atlus has finally confirmed.
A brand new gameplay trailer was also released alongside a new website, and shows off some brand new villains, as well as flashy new combat from our favourite characters, which you can watch above.
The Phantom Thieves will return once again, but this time, will strike against the corruption overtaking cities across Japan. Persona 5 Strikers will centre around The Phantom Thieves setting out to begin their road trip after the events of the original Persona 5, until a detective enlists their help to investigate a series of strange cases occurring across Japan.
Strikers is an action-adventure mystery game with a different battle system compared to the previous titles in the series, it’s a hack-and-slash similar to that of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. During the game, you’ll be able to visit 6 different cities across Japan, cook regional recipes, and fight Shadows within the Metaverse dungeon. Best of all, every Phantom Thief will be playable, so you’ll be able to fully utilize each character’s specific skills as well as summon their assigned Persona’s.
Pre-orders for Persona 5 Strikers start December 10 at 4pm PST, and will be available for PS4, Steam, and Nintendo Switch. A special edition steelbook Nintendo Switch version is also available to pre-order.
The game was originally released in Japan as Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers in February this year, but it looks like the title has had a name change for the west.
