Both Arrow and The Flash have spent a hefty amount of their current seasons setting up the CW's next spin-off: Legends of Tomorrow. A variety of outlets including IGN, ComicBook.com, ET, Access Hollywood, TV Line, EW, Variety, and TV Insider have released new character posters for the show (check them out in our gallery above) and at this point the faces should be familiar for anyone who follows DC's small screen exploits.
Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg has been speaking about the show ahead of its debut next year, and in an interview with Kevin Smith on the Fatman on Batman podcast he revealed that the initial idea was only to focus on one superhero - Hawkgirl. Eventually that expanded to include Hawkman as well, but it was when the writers realised they couldn't top the scope of their other shows that Legends of Tomorrow was born.
With almost 10 characters to cater for, Legends of Tomorrow is the most ambitious CW comic book show to date, particularly when you consider that none of the characters are as well known as Green Arrow or The Flash. Still, it's a promising setup, and it's a safe bet that it will provide some entertaining superhero action while Arrow and The Flash are on hiatus.
Legends of Tomorrow will premiere on the CW on January 21, 2016 before making its way to UK TV next February. Check out the latest trailer below...
