JSAUX, one of the best and most well-known brands in the gaming accessory space, has begun teasing a new side hustle - a controller brand named Voidjoy. This new sub-brand will bring the company into an entirely new market and will be dedicated to making the best PC controllers and controller accessories.
JSAUX says the new brand will make its debut at IFA in Berlin this September, showing off three of Voidjoy's product areas: portable controllers, PC controllers, and controller accessories.
"Over the past decade, JSAUX GAMING has built its products around practical design and real player needs," says Winnie Chen, Marketing Communications Manager at JSAUX.
"Voidjoy brings that same thinking into gaming controllers, one of the most direct ways players experience their games."
JSAUX is best known for its portable gaming accessories these days, making docks, grips, cases, and chargers for the Steam Deck, Switch 2, and other gaming handhelds like the ROG Xbox Ally. Its products have been consistently cited in our product roundups and have always scored favorably in our reviews.
Based on the JSAUX products I've gone hands-on with, I'm personally very excited about what kinds of controllers and what kind of quality of product this new side-brand could produce.
There's only minimal teasing so far, but I can't help but try to guess what we might see in the initial product range.
On the far left of the image, it looks like we're getting a PC pro controller with its own charging stand. The face of the pad is totally darkened so we can't see any details, but if it comes with its own dock and JSAUX has done its market research, there's a good chance it'll be a TMR controller and have two or four back buttons. The top of the controller isn't easy to make out, but I think you might just be able to make out some additional bumpers behind the RB and LB buttons.
In the middle of the image, it looks like there's a portable gamepad. From the shape of it, it looks like a mobile controller that's not too dissimilar in shape from the Nacon MG-X or even an original Razer Kishi. Again, it's hard to make out from the obscured image, but it looks like this has additional bumper buttons as well as lots of switches on the bottom and top, which could be to separate the controller in half or otherwise manage its functionality? We could be looking at a mobile/Switch 2 controller hybrid like the GameSir X5 line. Then again, you can see a USB-C port on its top, so maybe it's just a smaller gamepad you can take on the go.
Perhaps the most interesting tease is the product to the far right, which, at first glance, looks like a funky-looking DualShock 4. On a closer inspection, I don't think we're looking at the face of a controller here; I think this could be referring to the "controller accessories" JSAUX is teasing. This looks to me like the back/top of a controller, as you can make out the triggers and bumpers, and a thumbstick is even poking out the top right.
That would make the focus of this tease what's in the middle of the controller. It looks like this might be a back button attachment, as we've seen for the DualShock 4 in years gone by. But since it's fairly bulky, it could also be a removable battery pack for controllers, which hasn't really been a thing before now, but I could see a brand like JSAUX coming up with.
There's plenty to speculate and look forward to, but I do think Voidjoy could make a name for itself in a very competitive controller market.
