You may be wondering what the best Windrose builds are to help you get ahead in terms of combat, whether you’re just starting out on your pirate adventure or you’re already 50 hours in. Which build is best for you will depend on the type of playstyle you want to pursue. There are different paths for you to go down including strength if you just want to end your enemies with brute force, agility which allows you to take advantage of range as well as others too.
The path you adopt will be based on how you wish to play the game, however some paths and the weapons associated with them are considerably stronger than others. We’ve rounded up details of the best Windrose build, so you know what weapons to pick up, stats to prioritize and talents to pick up in order to be the strongest you can in game.
Before jumping in, it’s worth noting that builds within Windrose are always centered around weapon choice. Any additional elements are just there to support the weapon, meaning if you don’t have the correct weapon for a build just yet, or you’re enjoying the style of a specific weapon, it’s probably worth considering a new build altogether.

One of the best builds we’ve come across in Windrose is the precision build. This build focuses on using Rapiers and Pistols to dart in and out of battle and take down enemies. You’re able to get in close, deal damage, and parry with your Rapier before dashing out to heal and deal damage from a distance with your chosen firearm.
- Weapons: Rapier of a Thousand Cuts, Drake’s Double-Barreled Pistol
- Armour: Flibustier’s Attire (2), Privateer’s Regalia (2)
- Jewellery: Necklace of Precision, Spear-Throwers Ring
- Consumables: Any food that provides you with Precision as well as an Elixir of Cruelty for boss battles
- Stats: Precision: 25, Vitality: 10, Endurance: 10
When using this build the best way to play is to focus on applying bleed stacks with the Rapier of Thousands Cuts after you’ve marked the enemy with your Drake’s Double-Barreled Pistol. The mark will allow your target to take 15% more damage from all sources.
You can also parry using your Rapier while continuously dipping in and out of the fight to reapply bleed stacks constantly. Once the enemy is staggered, you can use your Pistol to shoot your enemy, aiming for the head to apply critical damage and reapply your extra damage mark.
You’ll need good dodging skills in order to play this build correctly as you need to constantly jump into close range in order to apply your bleed stacks.

Using Flibustier’s Attire means you waste 20% less stamina on your attacks allowing you to save your stamina for ducking and dodging. Pair this with Privateer’s Regalia for extra critical strike chance.
The jewellery and food options ensure you are pushing your damage even further, however, if you feel like you’re too much of a glass cannon or just not great at dodging then you can swap your consumables out for more defensive options. Food options that provide you with endurance and vitality can give you slightly better defensive stats so you have better defenses before jumping into battle.
Ensure you max out your precision stat in order to get the highest possible damage from your weapons. Aside from Vitality and Endurance, which can provide you with much needed defensive statistics, there is no need to put points into any other stats as you won’t be using weapons that utilise these stats.
During the early stages of the game, you’ll likely benefit from putting points into the Vitality and Endurance stats first so you can have better defences as you learn the attack patterns of enemies and find what play style you prefer. If you’ve tried out a build and want to switch later down the line you can reset your stat points at any point in your menu and redistribute them as required.
When it comes to talents, below are the best talents for this build:
- Marathon runner: 3/3
- Surgical Cuts: 3/3
- Perfect counter: 3/3
- Disciplined fencer: 1/3
- Deep impact: 1/3
These talents rely on you staggering your enemy so they are stunned and then applying mass damage. If you’re not great at parrying, it’s time to get practising. A great feature about the Windrose talent tree is that points can be reset and redistributed if you feel like a talent isn’t working for you.
Earlier in the game, you may find it easier to focus on more defensive talents like You Will Answer for this and Outnumbered. Once you feel like you’ve found your feet when it comes to playstyle and dodging, then you may benefit from resetting your skill tree and using the above talents instead as they focus heavily on damage.
