Is Subnautica 2 on Game Pass?
Good news if you're looking for Subnautica 2 on Game Pass, let's dive in
If you're wondering whether Subnautica 2 is available on Game Pass, I've got good news for you. It's one of the most most popular survival games around, and before it released, it was the most wishlisted game on Steam - so of course you want in.
Subnautica 2 is available on Game Pass, but only to those with an Ultimate subscription, so you'll either have to upgrade or buy the game outright if you've got Premium or Essential. If you need more details on how to get it on Game Pass, and how long it might be around for, I've got it all right here.
Is Subnautica 2 on Game Pass?
Subnautica 2 early access is available on Xbox Game Pass, titled Subnautica 2 (Game Preview) to reflect it's still in early access. As I've mentioned above, though, it's only available on Game Pass to those with an Ultimate subscription.
If you have either Premium or Essential, you can go into your Xbox subscription settings and upgrade your current subscription if you want to. You don't even have to pay a penny; your current subscription will just be shortened by a relative period, so it's worth considering if you're a big Subnautica fan. If you are jumping in then we can hel you get started as well with pointers on how to get Fibrous Pulp in Subnautica 2, and how to get Lucifer Rotsac, two of the first things you'll need to track down.
We don't know how long Subnautica 2 will stick around for on Game Pass, the preview may well hang around until the game's full launch, which doesn't have a release date yet. All we know if that the original game came to Game Pass around a year after it's full release and stuck around for a good three years, so you've probably got plenty of time either way with Subnautica 2.
Subnautica 2's presence on Game Pass also means you're more likely to rope friends into playing with you - as long as they don't suffer from thalassophobia, of course. If not, check out our Subnautica 2 multiplayer guide to see how it all works.

Danielle's guides are a safe space - she definitely got stuck before you did, which is why she's perfect for the job. When she's not replaying the Silent Hill games or a more up-to-date single-player horror game, you'll find her fighting for her life in Dead by Daylight, tending to a garden in Stardew Valley, or doing both in Minecraft.
