There are a ton of great artefats in the strategy game, but the Heroes of Might and Magic Fine Wand is among the best. This Epic off-hand artefact increases the level of all of your spells by one while held, giving every single known spell increased effect.
The artefact is located in the middle of the map during the second campaign mission - either Dusk Treaty or For the Chalice!, depending on which path choose. However, a couple of cute pixies will have their fun with you once you find it, so I've detailed whether it's worth playing their games - and how many spells you'll have to test out - to obtain the Heroes of Might and Magic Olden Era Fine Wand.
How do you get the Heroes Olden Era Fine Wand?
To get the Fine Wand in Heroes Olden Era, you'll have to use spells given to you by the pixies. This means you need to leave the area, find a battle, and use the spell before returning to the pixies' patch of land. However, on returning each time, they seem to have a new spell for you to test out, so how many spells do you need to use, and is it worth it?
There are actually only four spells that you need to use in battle before returning to finally get the Fine Wand from the pixies. The difficulty with this is that you could run into the enemy at any time, or they may be claiming your cities while you're playing around with pixies and magic.
Article continues belowSince Gunnar keeps his artefact between campaign missions, the best thing to do here is actually to return to get the Fine Wand after you've defeated the enemy and you have free reign of the map. But, yes, at this point the Fine Wand is definitely worth obtaining for use in the rest of the campaign.

After studying Music and Lifestyle journalism and writing a column for a stylish lifestyle magazine in her hometown of Brighton, Danielle finally found her feet writing about videogames for WePC in 2021. She then honed her guides writing skills at PCGamesN between 2022 and 2026, when she took those skills to GamesRadar as a Guides Writer. Danielle's guides are a safe space - she definitely got stuck before you did, which is why she's perfect for the job. When she's not replaying the Silent Hill games or a more up-to-date single-player horror game, you'll find her fighting for her life in Dead by Daylight, tending to a garden in Stardew Valley, or doing both in Minecraft.
