Best traits in Modern Warfare 4 DMZ
There are multiple traits to pick between in COD Modern Warfare 4 DMZ mode, chosen between three skill tees
The best traits in MW4 DMZ mode are all about making sure that your operator has the best skill possible. As you play you'll level up and earn new trait points, capping out at 18, which isn't nearly enough to fill all three skill trees. With that in mind, you need to be certain that you're picking the best traits possible and ensuring that you're ready for a variety of circumstances. With that in mind, I'll lay out the optimum build for traits in Modern Warfare 4 below, so you know exactly what to choose when the time comes.
What are the best traits in DMZ for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4?
Here are the best traits in each skill tree in MW4 DMZ mode. If you're building up in each tree, make sure that you pick the traits mentioned below when given the option to do so.
- Warfighter
- Equipment Professional: Slowly recharges equipped lethals and tacticals after use. Refills up to the max capacity of the slot.
- Adrenaline Burst: Killing an enemy resets tactical sprint.
- Possum: Allows a Self Revive into Last Stand from death, restoring health to maximum, once per match.
- Scout
- Investor: Slightly increases cash amount extracted.
- Auto Fill: Lethals and tacticals automatically replenish from Backpack.
- UAV Upgrade: Increases the range and duration of UAVs. Also upgrades them to Advanced UAVs.
- Survivalist
- Quick Knife: Replaces weapon bash melee attacks with knife attacks.
- Metabolism: Slowly regenerate health lost via tourniquet.
- Die Hard: Approaching an exfil while in Last Stand calls the exfil automatically. Also grants infinite bleed out time while in Last Stand.
These traits are largely based around universality and broad applicability in combat, as well as emphasizing those skills that are better in PvP than PvE (which tends to be tougher as a rule). I've also de-emphasized traits that increase reward yields and item stacking – not that there's anything wrong with those, but I think it's more important to survive missions than to risk your life on some small reward bonuses. After all, it doesn't matter if you have more loot than normal if you never make it home safely!
Operator Traits in Modern Warfare 4 DMZ explained
Traits in MW4 DMZ are skills that are unlocked when your Operator levels up. You'll get a trait point that can be invested in any of the three skill trees, granting that specific operator and character that skill, but only them! These don't apply to any other operators that you have unlocked.
Traits are picked from one of two or three options each time, and these choices are exclusive. For example, early in the Warfighter tree, you'll be able to pick between "Plate Pouch", "Bounty Hunter" and "Resupply". Whichever one you pick, it'll lock that Operator out of ever getting the other two, so pick carefully!
Operators can earn a total of 18 Traits before they max out, which is enough to completely work through two of the skill trees to the end. That restriction means that you have to think carefully about what you want to get, as you won't be able to get all of them.
If that operator is lost on a mission, you'll lose all progress you made with them. However, you can pay cash to rescue them. The amount of money it costs scales to their level – the more Traits they have, the more expensive it will be to bring them back.
