Is GTA 6 going to be on PC? And if so then when?
When we expect the GTA 6 PC release date to be, based on previous Rockstar launches
When is GTA 6 going to be on PC is a legitimate question to ask, as Rockstar have said nothing on that topic so far. While we know that Lucia and Jason's journey will begin on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X owners, there has been conspicuous silence about if or when a PC release will be happening. However, we can use previous releases as a barometer for when more information is likely to be release, so here's what you need to know about GTA 6 on PC.
If you want to get prepared, then we've broken down all of the GTA 6 weapons and GTA 6 cars identified so far, along with the GTA 6 locations you can visit and what is currently known about the GTA 6 map.
Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
Look, we all know that GTA 6 is the hottest ticket in town, so it will definitely be coming to PC in the future. There's no way that Rockstar wouldn't tap into that market, especially given the massive investment of both time and money to get to the finished product. However, as we've seen with previous releases, there is always a notable gap between the initial console launch and arrival on PC, so let's dig into the history and see what we can learn from it.
When do we expect the GTA 6 PC release date to be?
Based on previous releases, it's unlikely the GTA 6 will release on PC before November 2027, and it could get pushed back into 2028. It's also likely that Rockstar will keep completely quiet about it until a while after the console release, as they have done with previous games.
To give that some context, GTA 4 came out on PC a little over 7 months after consoles, and while GTA 5 was originally due launch for PC alongside the PS4 and Xbox One enhanced versions 14 months after the original release, delays meant it was 19 months before GTA 5 arrived on PC. More recently, there was a 13 month delay between Red Dead Redemption 2 arriving on consoles and making the leap to PC.
The PC version of GTA 5 was announced at E3 2014, some 9 months after initial release, while Rockstar waited the best part of a year before confirming Red Dead Redemption 2 was heading to PC. So, while it is an inevitability, don't expect to hear anything official about GTA 6 on PC until at least 2027.
