Emilia Clarke has been cast in the upcoming spin off Han Solo Star Wars movie and will "meet Han and Chewie" according to an official announcement.
Let's just have moment for that to sink in.
The announcement states that Clarke will "round out a dynamic cast of characters that Han and Chewie will encounter on their adventures." She joins Alden Ehrenreich staring as the scruffy nerf herder, Donald Glover, recently confirmed to be playing a young Lando Calrissian, and an as yet uncast, but obviously crucial, appearance from Chewie.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest she's going to be a bad guy, if not the villain. I don't know why, it just feels right.
Just to check, we're all cool with this, yeah?
Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller and starring Alden Ehrenreich, the Han Solo standalone movie is scheduled to open on May 25, 2018.
