Invincible season 4 finale post-credits scene: how deadly is the new Scourge virus?
While there's only one Invincible post-credits scene, it's a chunky one and will have huge ramifications for Invincible season 5. Back on Telescria, Allen has a mountain of 'paper'work sitting on his desk, when Telia delivers an unexpected message – a posthumous recording left by Thadeus for Allen in the event of his death.
As the new leader of the Coalition of Planets, Thadeus puts a huge burden on Allen's shoulders. In his recorded message, the recently beheaded Viltrumite reveals to Allen that before his death, he developed a new, "perfected" version of the Scourge Virus. The virus, you'll recall, is what Thadeus unleashed on the Viltriumutes, decimating the population. Many Viltrumites survived infection, however, including Nolan.
The perfected Scourge Virus, Thadeus claims, is far more deadly, and has the potential to wipe out every remaining Viltrumite, including Thragg. But it comes with a catch: species with "similar genetics" will also be affected, which is very bad news for the genetically similar human population, especially now we know that the Viltrumites are in hiding on Earth.

This leaves Allen with quite the genocidal conundrum: unleash the perfected Scourge Virus, likely killing Nolan, Mark and the entire human population in order to wipe out Thragg and the remaining Viltrumites for good, or deny Thadeus' order and risk another potential Viltrumite takeover of the galaxy.
Thadeus also reveals that Nolan knows of the weapon's existence, but "he does not and cannot know" that it's Thadeus' wish for Allen to use the perfected Scourge virus, no matter the cost, as Nolan would surely do everything in his power to stop it given his own family would be wiped out. Allen just had the worst first day on the job ever.
