New Spider-Man scenes are being filmed right now, but no one knows if it's for Brand New Day or Avengers: Doomsday
There's also an Easter egg hiding in plain sight
We're just over 50 days out from the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which makes the filming of a recent sequence feel out of the ordinary.
As spotted by onlookers in London near Wembley Stadium, cameras were rolling on a stunt set-piece for a Spider-Man scene. It's unclear whether it was a pick-up, reshoot, or for something else entirely.

In fact, that mystery extends to which project this is even for. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the obvious pick, with Marvel/Sony perhaps wanting to tighten up what's sure to be a billion-dollar hit upon its release this July.
But with the ongoing production of Avengers: Doomsday – and Tom Holland's conspicuous absence from the cast as of writing – there might be a chance to sneak in a quick Spider-Man scene for the MCU crossover or a post-credits scene bringing the wallcrawler into the fold.
Then there's the small matter of an Easter egg hiding in plain sight: the stunt performer playing Spider-Man here lands on a car with the license plate 'TASM 143'. That isn't just a random set of numbers, but a reference to Amazing Spider-Man #143, which features the first appearance of obscure villain Cyclone. Curious…
While we're tiptoeing into the realm of speculation, the license plate being from the UK hints that, if it's shown on camera, Spidey has gone globetrotting again. That's a possible argument, if any was needed, that Spider-Man will be showing up in Doomsday. Watch this space.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, and Sadie Sink, swings into cinemas on July 31 – with early screenings available for Amazon Prime members.
