Coyote Vs. Acme has a sweet dedication to everyone who rallied in favor of the film's release after it was cancelled at Warner Bros. back in 2023.
According to The New Yorker, there's a dedication just before the credits roll that reads: "To everyone who posted, shared, held up signs, and spoke out when it counted. This film made it to the big screen because of you."
The completed $72 million film was shelved by Warner Bros. for a $30 million tax write-off, with the studio adding insult to injury by originally preventing it from being shopped to other studios for release. Thanks to a massive internet uproar, which extended to real-life protests that involved wearing a Coyote costume outside of Warner Bros. headquarters, Warner Bros. allowed the film to be purchased, and a bidding war ensued. In 2025, Ketchup Entertainment reached a deal with Warner Bros. to obtain distribution rights.
Starring John Cena and Will Forte, Coyote vs. Acme is a live-action/computer-animated comedy (à la Cool World or Who Framed Roger Rabbit?) that sees a fed-up Wile E. Coyote team up with a reluctant lawyer (Forte) in order to sue ACME, the corporation that makes all of those Roadrunner-killing traps that have never, ever worked. The movie is directed by Dave Green, with a screenplay penned by Samy Burch (May December). It currently sits at a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, and it's incredible (if I do say so myself).
