True Blood Renewed For A Seventh Season

Bon Temps is going to be infested with vampires for another year at least. HBO has renewed the True Blood for a seventh season.

The official announcement confirmed that new episodes of the series will debut in summer 2014, but did not say how many episodes there would be. However, TVLine is claimimg that sources have revealed to them there will be ten again, as with season six, rather than the 12 of seasons one to five.

Executive producer Brian Buckner will be returning as showrunner, a job he took up midway through season six after Mark Hudis’s sudden departure.

True Blood remains a signature show for HBO, and a true phenomenon with our viewers," noted Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. "Thanks to Brian Buckner and his talented team, the show continues to be a thrill ride like nothing else on TV.”
