There were a few films that disappointed cinemagoers this summer blockbuster season, but Captain America: Civil War (opens in new tab) was not one of them.
The same can't be said for Batman v Superman (opens in new tab), which makes Screen Junkies' Honest Trailer for Civil War - which brings some of the spooky similarities between Marvel and DC's latest superhero films to light - all the more interesting.
Check it out below...
Not to over-analyse what's meant to be a bit of light-hearted, tongue-in-cheek fun, but Screen Junkies' video - which gets bonus points for hilarious gags like "Barnes and Noble" to describe Bucky and Cap - doesn't note the difference in execution between Civil War and Batman v Superman.
While both films sets up "a universe worth of spin-offs", for example, Civil War does this by organically finding a way for Black Panther and Spider-Man to exist within the main narrative. Batman v Superman, meanwhile, has a series of YouTube videos smack dab in the middle of the film.
There's other points the video makes that I don't fully agree with - I wouldn't call a movie that ends with one of its characters half-paralysed as lacking in lasting stakes - but it's nonetheless a humorous assessment of one of Marvel's more well-received films.
Directed by Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, and starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey, Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chadwick Boseman, Tom Holland, Anthony Mackie, and Sebastian Stan, Captain America: Civil War is available on DVD and Blu-Ray now.
