Bryan Singer has posted a new Instagram update from the set of X-Men: Apocalypse, and it seems to feature Ben Hardy’s Angel taking part in some sort of mutant-on-mutant cage fight. And judging by his expression, he doesn’t exactly look thrilled to be there…
Singer’s accompanying hashtags include #eastberlin and #1982, suggesting that this scene takes place just before the main bulk of the film’s action. Is this where Apocalypse discovers Angel before turning him into one of his Four Horsemen? It seems likely.
At Comic-Con, Hardy described his character as “every angry or bitter thought I’ve ever had embodied in one person”. Just the kind of persona that could be exploited by the world’s oldest mutant, and it looks as though he wouldn’t need that big of a push to transform into the villainous Archangel.
Directed by Singer and co-starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult, X-Men: Apocalypse will open in the UK on May 19 2016 and the US on May 27 2016.
