Movie producer Joel Silver is developing a fresh version of 1980s favourite He-Man and the Masters of the Universe for Warner Brothers, it seems. Ignoring past attempts to bring the toys-and-cartoon to the screen (such as the adaptation starring Dolph Lundgren, and an abandoned John Woo follow-up), Silver’s update will be one of those trendy reimaginings, using the kind of visual effects seen in Sin City or 300 .
In other news, that busy man Silver is also planning to produce The Book of Eli , a post-apocalyptic tale about a man fighting to protect a sacred tome. It was written by Gary Whitta , a one-time magazine editor at Future Publishing!
