Microsoft and Epic Games have announced a November 1st launch date for the first batch of Gears of War 3 DLC. Labelled the Horde Command Pack, the add-on will beam onto Xbox 360 with three new multiplayer maps, a trio of familiar faces, a pair of fresh weapons skins, Horde mode fortifications, and achievements totalling 250 Gamerscore points.

The DLC will introduce three new playable characters to the mix: an Onyx Guard, Big Rig Dizzy Wallin, and Sergeant Bernadette “Bernie” Mataki (aka 'The Boomer Lady'). It will also roll out three new maps including Blood Drive, set in the battle ravaged Jacinto Medical Plaza; Rustlung, set on top of a Royal Tyran Navy battleship; and Azura, the island resort turned war zone.

For Horde enthusiasts, the Horde Command Pack is slated to carry extra protection in the form of the Command Centre, a new fortification that will allow players to summon sniper support, mortar strikes, and numerous Hammers of Dawn; the Decoy Upgrade, which turns decoys in Onyx Guards; a Sentry Upgrade, which adds fire bolt firepower to sentries; and the Silverback Upgrade, which adds rockets and extra levels of repair cost reduction to the Silverback exo-suit.

The Horde Command Pack is priced at 800 Microsoft Points ($10), and will be automatically downloaded at no cost for Gears of War 3 Season Pass holders.

Now personally I got nothing against Dlc except maybe the fact that atleast once every week the new dlc section gets spammed by damn rockband 3 tracks that ticks me rite off, bad news ppl the first dlc is delayed hoping it'll be out tomorrow instead. I wasn't a big fan of blood drive, it kinda sucked, I'd rather they released the likes of fuel depo.

I HATE Map Packs, but the added Horde mode stuff, as well as additional story content, REALLY makes me wish I'd bought a season pass.... D:

This piece sounds kick ass, especially since I enjoy playing Horde so much. Wish they'd add some lambent to Beast though.

@KillerQueen, if these DLC's come out with a GOTY edition they will be in the form of redeemable code, not DLC disc (like fallout 3)

Yes! Yes! Now they begin to understand! (... the awesomeness that is Horde.) Can never get enough Horde.

Glad I got Season Pass. If the other three DLC releases are this good, it'll be worth the 30 bucks.

Yay new cheap DLC. Annoyed that they picked Blood Drive of all places for the returning map cause it sucked ass but other than that, sweet.

Well it was a fan favorite.

Really? Personally it was a favorite of mine as well as the friends I played with.

I hate DLC, but it's only 800 msp so I'm definitely getting. I just dislike that "at no cost" thing for the season pass people.. it did cost something.. but they paid for it already. lol

I'm sure they mean at no additional cost.
