The first trailer has arrived online for The Green Inferno , Eli Roth's tale of cannibal terror set in the Amazon rainforest.
Roth's first directorial effort in six years, the new film will follow a group of student activists who travel from NYC to the rainforest in order to save an ancient tribe from extinction.
However, it turns out that said tribe are actually cannibals, and have no great desire to be saved from anything… except starvation, that is.
Take a look at the new trailer, below…
This first trailer skirts around any of the actual flesh-munching grisliness, although when the film screened at TIFF last year, it drew some fairly extreme reactions from audiences. Expect gore then, and plenty of it…
Directed by Roth and co-starring Lorenza Isso, Ariel Levy and Daryl Sabara, The Green Inferno will open in the US on 5 September 2014, with a UK date to be confirmed.
