Westworld continues to look absolutely fascinating, and the latest trailer offers another small but no less tantalizing glimpse into its dystopic vision of the future. Based on the 1973 cult sci-fi classic of the same name, the HBO series will follow the titular theme park-ish destination, where rich people from all over the world pay handsomely for the chance to act out their wildest fantasies in a fictional wild west town filled with androids. This latest trailer shows an appropriately creepy Anthony Hopkins reminding his guests that the park's, ahem, attractions aren't exactly real.
Of course, with the tense music, the brooding atmosphere, the clinical sterility of its labs and offices, and the sneering Hopkins, one can only assume that Westworld isn't quite the happy-go-lucky place it purports to be - and that bad things may be afoot for those who find themselves inside. And for those of you looking for a show to fill that genre fiction hole left by Game of Thrones, Westworld looks like it'll fit quite nicely.
Co-starring Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, James Marsden and Ed Harris, Westworld will debut on HBO on October 2.
