PSN slashes prices with 13 for '13

13 for '13
Sony's making great January sales a new year's tradition, and we are pretty okay with that. With 13 for '13, several PlayStation 3 downloadable titles have received decent discounts for all and truly impressive savings for PlayStation Plus members. Check out the deals du jour in the following slides.

LittleBigPlanet Karting
Regular $39.99, Sale $19.99, PS Plus $10.00
We had a great time with this kart racer, in which the Sackpeople of Craftworld lose the platforming but keep the odd configurations of household objects, and it just came out in November. Now it's only $10 for PlayStation Plus members. That's crazy. Like, Steam Sale crazy.

The Unfinished Swan
Regular $14.99, Sale $7.49, PS Plus $3.75
Even if you don't plan on finishing The Unfinished Swan, the first few scenes of discovery in its beautiful snow-white kingdom are worth the reduced asking price. Toss globs of black paint around its seemingly blank canvas to reveal a world of minimalist beauty.

Ratchet & Clank
Regular $14.99, Sale $7.49, PS Plus $3.75
Before they Up their Arsenal, Go Commando, and do a Full Frontal Assault, The Lombax Begins. PlayStation's gun-toting duo of furry dude and robot pal went from the future to the even-more-future with double-entendre-loving-titles at every step, but they got their start in this PlayStation 2 classic.

Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy
Regular $7.99, Sale $3.99, PS Plus $2.00
PlayStation's OTHER cartoony duo gets its start in this very-appropriately-named-if-you-think-about-it-now PS2 classic. Revel in the days when Jak let Daxter do the talking for him, and you didn't need a gun as long as you had your little weasel buddy and some platforms to jump around on.

Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds Complete Collection
Regular $24.99, Sale $12.49, PS Plus $6.25
Catch up with the crazy-prolific Sony golf series with its 2008 iteration, wherein the cartoony cast returns to the links for rounds of arcadey, yet deep, hacking action. Hey, if you've been meaning to get into the venerable sport, Hotshots is called "Everbody's Golf" in Japan...

Warp
Regular $9.99, Sale $4.99, PS Plus $2.50
Warp made stealth puzzles out of clever environmental manipulation and patrolling guards when it came out early this year, but it never quite got the attention it deserved. Now you can rectify that by picking up the lovable little alien's explosive exploits on the cheap.

Shank 2
Regular $9.99, Sale $4.99, PS Plus $2.50
First, there was Shank. And it was good but not great. Then there was Shank 2, which was a little bit better. It's worth the discounted price to enjoy Klei Studios' hand-drawn animations alone, as also seen in Mark of the Ninja.

NiGHTS into Dreams HD
Regular $9.99, Sale $4.99, PS Plus $2.50
Oh, yeah, you loved this Saturn classic, right? So beautiful the way it let you fly around the world with its own special analog controller? Still haven't actually bought it, though, have you? How do you sleep at NiGHT?

Jet Set Radio
Regular $9.99, Sale $4.99, PS Plus $2.50
JET SET RADIOOOOOOOOOOOO
We'll leave it at that.

The House of the Dead: OVERKILL Extended Cut
Regular $19.99, Sale $9.99, PS Plus $5.00
The House of the Dead was good, but it just took itself too seriously, right? Really needed a bit more B-movie cheesiness. If you (somehow) agree, this expletive-ridden, stripper-laden re-envisioning of the classic arcade shooter is just what the evil corporation ordered.

Psychonauts
Regular $9.99, Sale $4.99, PS Plus $2.50
The first project from Double Fine is also one of our hundred greatest games of all time. Dive into the twisted psyches of summer camp counselors and mutant lungfish as you platform your way through a hilarious (and surprisingly touching) story.

Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13
Regular $39.99, Sale $19.99, PS Plus $10.00
Keep your back straight. The latest installment of Electronic Arts' heavyweight golfing series is marked down in advance of PGA Tour 14's release on March 27, and how much more golf-for-your-buck do you really think it will have?

Machinarium
Regular $9.99, Sale $4.99, PS Plus $2.50
If you thought The Brave Little Toaster had it rough, you clearly haven't played Machinarium yet. Proving that glum, brown environments can be a sight to behold with the proper hand-drawn love, you'll have a tough time not falling in love with the adventure game's squeaky little automatons.

Markdown madness
The sale also extends into 13 popular movies, but that's not really our shtick. What do you think of PlayStation Network's 13 for `13 sale? Any games you're particularly glad to see, or wish had gotten a discount of its own?
