Prime Day PC deals are on the horizon, and the sale could save you from RAMageddon
Here's hoping Prime Day will restore some gaming PC price normality.
Prime Day PC deals are always worth a look, but Amazon's sale could make all the difference as we weather RAMageddon. Yes, pre-built systems, graphics cards, memory, and other major components may cost you more in 2026, but the event should hopefully bring some costs down compared to the rest of the year.
In another timeline, this year's Prime Day deals would knock the best gaming PCs and their respective parts down to new record lows. That may still happen, but you should brace yourself for higher prices than before, thanks to component shortages sparked by AI datacenter demand. With that in mind, the aim this year is to find affordable rigs, graphics cards, and RAM for near their previous MSRP, and it'll be a bonus if things tip over into discount territory.
The team at GamesRadar+ spends hours testing everything from the latest components to the best gaming handhelds that run PC games. This year, we'll be using all that knowledge to help you play some excellent games or upgrade your trusty old machine, and that means taking full advantage of Prime Day PC deals this Summer.
What to expect from Prime Day PC deals in 2026
It may sound silly, but the best gaming PC deals from these big Prime Day events almost always come from the likes of Newegg and Best Buy. Walmart is also known to throw out some good deals, but Newegg in particular is famous for running its own sales events at the same time as Prime Day. That isn't to say Amazon itself won't have good deals, just that it's worth keeping your sights set on broader retailers.
We always see PCs on the entry level of the gaming spec sheet get brought down to more reasonable prices, so if you've got a budget under a grand, there's no reason you won't be able to pick up a decent gaming rig. Here's a closer look at what specs to look for up and down the price range. These are more of a reference for 40 Series Nvidia machines, mainly because while the 50 Series is now available, the prices for them are brand new and are much harder to pin down into a specific bracket. In our eyes, these prices should be used as a minimum or loose guide when you shop around.

Of course, while these price bands are historically what we'd aim for, the current component shortage situation could hike even the cheapest PCs. We'll be on the ground assessing each Prime Day "deal" this year in real time and offering advice on whether you should grab it now or wait for prices to normalize.
For the entry-level range, you're probably looking at iBuyPower, IPASON, CyberPowerPC, and other smaller brands found on Newegg and Amazon for this sort of deal. These are very worth considering if you're buying your first gaming PC or need to upgrade to newer-gen parts.
Elsewhere, we're likely to see brands like ASUS, Alienware, HP, and Acer pull deals out of the Prime Day hat. These configurations can vary, and we usually see discounts from the mid-range bracket all the way through to expensive high-end monsters.
To sound like a broken record, just keep our gaming PC golden rule in mind. Think about futureproofing, because you don't want to get a year or two down the road and realize you can't make the awesome component upgrade you'd like to because your motherboard is locked into an older generation.
Those of you looking to upgrade an existing PC will want to keen an eye out for component offers, and those are also weathering RAMageddon. This year, RAM is going to be particularly tricky, so we'll be focusing on spotting DDR5 kits for somewhat near their original prices. It's best practice to always look at the historical price trends before making a decision, as it'll be easier than ever to be caught out by some sellers quickly inflating prices to make "deals" look more enticing.
The same applies to graphics cards, although GPUs have been in a bit of an MSRP pickle for years now. It's a minefield out there, so I'd make sure to check back here or keep up to date with our live coverage for all the models actually worth looking at, as we'll be sourcing cards that abide by Nvidia and AMD's original recommended prices.
Prime Day PC deals: FAQ
When will Prime Day PC deals start?
Prime Day 2026 is set to kick off in June, but Amazon hasn't announced an exact date as of yet. That might catch you off guard since the event has taken place in July for the past few years, so you'll potentially be showered with offers a whole month in advance. The last time the sale happened in June was 2021, and if that previous timeline is anything to go by, things will likely happen at the end of the month this year.
Do you have to be a Prime member to access Prime deals?
Yes, you'll need a Prime Membership to gain access to the more exclusive parts of Amazon's sale, particularly the Prime-exclusive offers. Funnily enough, sometimes for Prime Day, we see only a few of those, and other times we see more. When it comes to PCs specifically, a lot of the best deals actually come from competing retailers who run their own sales at the same time. Either way, you don't necessarily have to pay for a Prime subscription if you play your cards right. If you're not an existing Prime member, you'll be able to take advantage of a 30-day free trial closer to the event.
Amazon Prime | 30-day free trial
You will likely need to be a registered Prime member in order to benefit from this year's sale, but there are ways around paying for it. If you sign up for a free 30-day trial today, you'll be covered for the big event. Just be sure to cancel before it renews into a fully paid subscription.

Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more

One of my earliest memories is playing SuperMario64 and wondering why the controller I held had three grips, but I only had two hands. Ever since I've been in love with video games and their technology. After graduating from Edinburgh Napier University with a degree in Journalism, I contributed to the Scottish Games Network and completed an Editorial Internship at Expert Reviews. Over the last decade, I’ve been managing my own YouTube channel about my love of games too. These days, I'm one of the resident hardware nerds at GamesRadar+, and I take the lead on our coverage of gaming PCs, VR, controllers, gaming chairs, and content creation gear. Now, I better stop myself here before I get talking about my favourite games like HUNT: Showdown, Dishonored, and Towerfall Ascension.
