Mad Max: Fury Road gets new release date

The list of big-name blockbusters scheduled for 2015 grows ever longer, with Warner announcing that Mad Max: Fury Road will now be arriving in the most crowded summer market in recent memory.

Having initially been slated for a 2014 release date, the film will now open on 15 May 2015, putting it in the same territory as Avengers: Age Of Ultron , which opens two weeks earlier.

Leading man Tom Hardy recently revealed that he was heading back out on location for a series of additional shoots, an announcement that seemed to point to another delay in the long-gestating project.

The new release date will now place the film exactly thirty years after the last instalment in the series, assuming of course that there isn’t another delay in the pipeline…

Meanwhile, 2015 grows ever more jammed with summer tentpoles. Surely we’re at capacity now? Standing room only? We shall see…
