The classic sci-fi show Lost in Space is set for a comeback, with Netflix picking it up for rebooted series. According to Deadline, the streaming service will produce a new series based on the show that first aired way back in 1965. Netflix were believed to have fought off stiff competition in a bidding war for the rights, paving the way for Dracula Untold writers Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless to begin penning the episodes.
Acclaimed director Neil Marshall (The Descent, and more recently the helmer of Hannibal and Game of Thrones episodes) will be involved in the project. The show's original theme tune was written by the now legendary John Williams, but there's no details on whether a revamped score will feature, or indeed which actors will assume the roles of the ill-fated Robinsons.
