Dark Souls Remastered full walkthrough: UNDEAD DRAGON, VALLEY OF THE DRAKES (OPTIONAL)
Step out of Blighttown’s tunnel into the Valley of the Drakes and follow the cliff to your right. Cross the long wooden bridge and continue until you see a giant sleeping Undead Dragon blocking your path. Once you attack, it will wake up, but it will never move from its initial position. Its main attacks are vomiting poisonous liquid or slamming its claw down. As long as you keep a safe distance of about 20 feet, you can use any kind of ranged attack to defeat this beast. Fireball works great.
The dragon drops a Dragon Scale. You can now safely grab the loot it was guarding, too, which includes Astora’s Straight Sword, the Dragon Crest Shield, and the soul of a proud knight. Astora’s Straight Sword has grade C scaling in strength, dexterity, and magic, and has a physical attack value of 80 and a magic attack value of 80. In other words, it’s a good weapon.
Now is the perfect time to use a Homeward Bone to return to the Blighttown Swamp bonfire.
