It’s an almost-crazy decision to throw out your commentary, musical soundtrack, and on-field gameplay sounds to rebuild them from scratch in a matter of months. Yet, that’s exactly what Matt Bialosuknia and his Madden NFL 13 audio engineering team did this year. Rich Grisham talks with him to learn how and why they created an entire new commentary system, went to NFL Films to collect thousands of unique field-level sounds, and crafted a brand-new musical score to help set the new direction of the series.
