Playdead, the studio behind Limbo and Inside, is already hard at work on its next game. The studio took to Twitter today to share a picture from the project, and … well, it certainly looks like a Playdead game. Take a look for yourself and let's see what we can glean about this from one image:
Thanks for your warm reception of INSIDE. Since release, Playdead founder Arnt Jensen and the team have been working on the next adventure. pic.twitter.com/RfejnH39mRJanuary 20, 2017
Like I said above, this dark and moody visual style is Playdead's signature style - so I wouldn't expect anything particularly happy or colorful. The shooting star and what appears to be a helmet on the only character in the scene make me think the game will have something to do with outer space, but it also looks like he or she is dragging a raggedy parachute, which isn't exactly standard issue for astronauts.
Personally, I'd love to see a Playdead game about being stranded on an alien planet, trying to get back home or at least to safety. But I'm curious as to what you all think, so be sure to share your theory in the comments below.
