Pokemon Go is getting trading with friends and further improvements

So as Pokemon Go continues to take the world by storm, it's almost alarming to note that this is only the beginning of the app. I'm going to use this opportunity to share this video again. Yes, this is to find virtual creatures in a smartphone app.

Niantic CEO John Hanke has been telling Business Insider the plans for the future of Pokemon Go and it's going to have something the game is currently lacking - trading. Hanke hasn't said much about exactly how it's going to work - I expect a 'trade' button near the one that currently says 'transfer' for sending the critters to Professor Willow - but says "it's kind of a core element". Apparently trading will tie in with the core virtues of the game and encourage players to meet up and interact.

Other improvements on the way will be more ways to interact with Pokestops. These are currently landmarks that will give you items when you get close enough and spin the Pokemon symbol. Hanke says they are currently in their "very most basic versions" but it's going to be possible for players to "customise their functions in other ways". This sounds especially interesting. Given that I have 10 on the way to work, it'll be intriguing to see new ways I can make the most of them.

There's also going to be boosts in the AR tech used to show the Pokemon in the real world. Hanke says the current usage is a "great first step" but there's going to be more.  He also revealed to Business Insider that Pokemon Go could be coming to dedicated AR devices, saying "that may be a fun thing to take advantage of". As it is, I desperately want the bluetooth Pokemon Go Plus bracelet that means you don't need to take out your phone but it's still very much "temporarily unavailable" on the Nintendo Store

Despite some countries not having the app yet - the UK is currently a crying Pikachu gif - the fact that this is only the very basic version of the app means we've got some ridiculously exciting training experiences on the way. Time to be the best that no one ever was.
