The Halo Infinite Tenrai event is back, with samurai armor and all manner of other bonuses for players to unlock over the next week, based around a new 30-tier Battle Pass and new Yoroi Armor Core. The Tenrai event was in Halo Infinite once before, and while not much has changed, it's still good to have a primer on what's going on and what you can do to earn as much from the Tenrai Battle Pass as possible. So, if you want the details on what the Halo Infinite Tenrai event is, and how you can unlock that samurai armor, here's all the info.

Halo Infinite Tenrai event dates
The Halo Infinite Tenrai event is currently live and will run until January 10. That means you’ve got just under a week to do what you can to complete challenges and unlock rewards on the event pass. The event will be back in February, March and more in 2022 though, so this isn’t your only chance to get what rewards you can.
Remember, this first season will run until May 22 and is promising "multiple in-game events with their own rewards and activities". Hopefully there will be even more opportunities to get the event armor sets and even other events with their own unique cosmetic rewards.
Halo Infinite Tenrai event rewards
The main draw of the Halo Infinite Tenrai multiplayer event is that Yoroi Armor Core and all the samurai-themed armor you can equip on it. To get some of these items, you’ll need to level up the event pass by completing challenges – more on that below.
Unfortunately, there is a significant portion of the event items that can only be bought through the in-game store for Credits, which is the premium currency for Halo Infinite. The Tenrai event pass is also filled with Challenge Swaps and XP Grants to fill in the gaps. The XP Grants in this event pass do differ from the Battle Pass’s XP Boosts as they at least give you a certain amount of XP rather than boosting the amount of XP you get for a limited time. This means they should really help you climb through the regular Battle Pass levels.
Here’s are most of the rewards you can get from the free Halo Infinite Tenrai event pass:
- Yoroi Legendary Armor Core – Level 5
- Gatekeeper Shoulder Pads – Level 10 and 15
- Sol Devil Weapon Coating for the Assault Rifle – Level 20
- Whispered Sky Weapon Coatings for the Sidekick, and Battle Rifle – Level 24, and 28
- Yokai Helmet – Level 25
- Swordsman’s Belt Legendary Utility – Level 30
- Emblems for customizing your armor, weapons, and Spartan ID
- 6 Challenge Swaps and 10 XP Grants
How the Halo Infinite Tenrai event pass works
The Fracture: Tenrai event for Halo Infinite multiplayer has its own event pass that works similarly to the regular Battle Pass. It’s only got 30 reward tiers, instead of the usual 100, and is free for all players, so you won’t have to spend any real money to get a premium version of the event pass. You will also be able to access it as soon as you log in while the event is active – there’s no need to download or unlock anything to gain access.
Like the Halo Infinite Battle Pass, you can only level up the Tenrai event pass by completing challenges, although the pass itself is not XP-based and the challenges you complete must be Tenrai event challenges. These special Fiesta playlist challenges are marked with an orange banner to show that they are specific to the event. Completing one event challenge will give you one level on your Halo Infinite Tenrai event pass, so you’ll need to complete 30 event challenges to complete the pass. Be aware that this is impossible to do in this first week of the event, so don’t bother grinding Halo Infinite multiplayer as hard as you can in the hopes of finishing the pass ahead of the upcoming events.
You can find your event challenges under the challenge log tab where you can find all your normal weekly challenges. You can see what Tenrai even challenges you have currently and which ones you can get later by swithing to ‘Upcoming Challenges’. While these event challenges also award XP upon completion, any XP you do get from completing Tenrai event challenges goes towards your Season 1 Battle Pass, not your Tenrai event pass.
Halo Infinite Tenrai event Fiesta playlist
When you look at your challenge log, you’ll notice that the Tenrai event challenges marked with an orange banner are all based around completing objectives within the Fiesta playlist or during Fiesta matches. Fiesta is a mode originally only available during the Tenrai event, and since a playlist update in December you can find it on the normal game mode list in the Halo Infinite multiplayer lobby. Fiesta follows regular 4 vs 4 Slayer rules, except all players spawn with a random weapon and equipment loadout. Use your random weapons, or pick up ones from defeated players, to reach 50 points before the opposing team to win.
